Overwhelming scenery fringed by azure seas, this five by eight kilometre subtropical jewel offers everything in concentrate. From kaleidoscopic coral reefs filled with colourful fish to bushwalking among the planet's tallest tree ferns. Add to this some awesome land based and boat fishing, Norfolk island is undoubtedly the South Pacific's best kept secret.

Where to fish???

The island has excellent rock ledges on all sides, many of these are difficult find and sometimes require local permission to access as much of the land is privately owned. Species such as silver trevally (3-12 kg), yellowtail kingfish (3-35kg), yellowfin tuna (5-40kg) and bronze whalers (3-10 feet long) are common captures from the deeper ledges. The same species are also available on the deep reefs surrounding the island with the addition of some very large snapper (up to 15kg), wahoo and the most prolific species to inhabit the deeper waters, the sweetlip.

Go and fish the deep water drop offs, troll for yellowfin tuna and wahoo or fish the legendary land based game fishing ledges on Phillip Island for big yellowfin tuna and kingfish.

Scuba Diving??? 

With over 30 world class diving sites, Norfolk Island offers many fascinating diving opportunities.

Explore caves, tunnels, chasms and chimneys, and a wide variety of fish and marine algae. Visibility is normally around 20 meters or better, with a minimum water temperature of 18 degrees in winter. Norfolk Island has a fully qualified PADI Dive Instructor who offers PADI training from Introductory Dive Courses right up to Dive Master. Equipment and tuition material is provided.

The MANOR HOUSE: A two story house with two bedrooms, one with queen bed, the other with twin beds. Both open onto a large sunny balcony. There are also two GARDEN APARTMENTS, These are very spacious, one bedroom, featuring queen & single beds, with an ensuite bathroom. The large comfortable dining and lounge area open onto a patio which is ideal for relaxing in the afternoon sun, or you can relax & watch TV or video. Shared laundry. Ideal for two or three people.

The COTTAGE is all new throughout and features two bedrooms, queen bed and king twin option. Both open onto the patio. There are two bathrooms, (one with wheelchair access to shower), washing machine, large spacious lounge/dining area, opening onto a sunny patio. Beautifully presented, spacious and comfortable.

COLONY LODGE, set among native trees and beautiful hibiscus, offers you a home away from home. Your comfort is assured with pedestal fans, gas heaters, electric blankets, insect screens throughout, beach towels & picnic baskets, hair-dryers, plenty of towels and linen provided. ALL apartments have fully equipped kitchens with stoves, microwaves, electric frypans, plus BBQs for outdoor dining if you prefer. ALL packages include a 4 door auto car.

How to get there???

Norfolk Air operates a Boeing 737-200 from Sydney and Brisbane every Wednesday,Friday, Saturday and Sunday, every Friday from Melbourne, and a Monday service from Newcastle (N.S.W).

Getting Around???
