Neil Tedesco 1977 - 2009

On the 16th April 2009 Adventure Bound presenter Neil Tedesco passed away suddenly in a tragic accident at his local gym while free diving training. He was a loving brother, son and boyfriend and would do anything and everything for anyone.

TRUST FUND

Neil's family and friends will be opening a trust fund in his honour. The money collected will go to projects in which Neil was passionate about in the fishing community.

If you are thinking of buying flowers we would ask that you instead use that money towards the trust.

Details of the trust are still to be worked out in the near future once Neil has been laid to rest - details will be posted here on adventurebound.com.au.

The details will be posted here and at Fishnet.com.au when they become available.

Thankyou to all that have expressed their sympathies and condolences.

He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Neil Tedesco November 1st 1977 - April 16th 2009

I am in WA & unfortunately have only just watched the first show of Adventure Bound on DTV since the collapse of Channel 31 over here.So I have just found out of the tragic loss of the best fishing presenter Ive seen on TV. Another reason it has taken so long is because Im always going fishing, tying rigs etc thanks to the way Neil & the Team present the show.
My condolences to all who knew him . A great example of a true Fisherman.

Blake Scriven  - Shattered   |2010-03-04 23:59:06
Shattered to hear of Neil's passing tonite. I watch AB weekly and have marvelled at his ability and as another scriber would put it "Neil, you are de man!". Loved the way he sets hooks and then rips in, some of his Kingfish catches - among others - are simply brilliant. He puts other so called TV Fishermen/women to the sword (ET i'm looking at you!) with his precise knowledge and passing of information, not to mention his ethos of only taking what you need. I hope AB continues in his honour.

Condolences to his family and friends from an avid viewer.

Rest well.

Just watched another episode of Adventure Bound on the teev. Tears are rolling down my cheeks as I write....I don't understand it. I'm a 47 year old bloke. I never knew Neil....a kindred spirit perhaps. Someone I know I could call friend after a single meeting.

Best wishes to friends and family. A tough call indeed.

Rip Neil.

We are deeply saddened by the news of Neil's passing. Neil and his family were very good neighbours for 10 year's. He was an extremely, friendly and generous person. We are in shock as we just found out. Our thoughts are with his family.

Firstly, my sincerest sympathies to Neil's family and friends for the tragic loss.
I would try to watch Neil's 'adventures' weekly and because I am the sort of person who doesn't like going anywhere on holidays unless I have the opportunity to go fishing, I would always comment to my wife how I would 'love' to go fishing with Neil.
Well maybe not in this world but another.
Peace to you Neil.

Neil was the coolest, most informative and keen as--fisherman on T.V. Most others on other shows come off as fools.
Fishing has saved me in life and I know with thanks to Neil will save many more troubled youths. Thanks

Franco Tedesco  - Passionate man with familiar surname   |2009-09-29 22:04:32
My son and I are regular watcher's of this great show, and we would 'play' with the fact that we shared the same surname, "Here's cousin Neil look at the big fish he caught!".
There is no relation by the way.
What a shock to hear of his passing, our sincere condolences to all his loved ones he left behind.
From Franco Tedesco and family.

From my family to yours we wish you all the strength to manage with this great loss. He put me onto those awsume snapper snatchers which never fail and he made watching fishing even more ejoyable than doing it After every show my mates and i would get together and rig up just how Neil would, well try at least. We hope where ever he is now that the fish are always biting.

Wilbur Starr  - Tight Lines   |2009-08-11 20:22:38
Since moving house in February I had been unable to get Channel 31 and had resorted to religiously putting on my AB DVDs on a Thursday night at 7:30pm to get my 'fix'. I have 4 young kids and they always knew they could stay up an extra half an hour later to watch the show with their dad. I was stunned to learn of Neil's passing while flicking through a local fishing mag on the weekend. The sadness has resonated with me for days and when I told my daughter that he had passed away she went very quiet. Never met the guy, but Neil and the AB team bought my family together religiously. Fishing and great blokes will do that. Rest in peace mate - I can only imagine how the rest of you are feeling. Tight lines.

To sit down and watch his skills at fishing was a great pleasure. I have purchased all the adventure bound dvds over the years and enjoyed neils Humour & talent. He was so respected by our crew up in sydney. He was always emailing us on tips when we asked. Our regards to his closest. But be proud , he diserves it!

So sad to hear the news, still cant believe it! Had only just got back in touch with him and was looking forward to catching up on old stories, learning and chatting more about fishing (and going out with him on the boat 1 day) and meeting the lovely Tammy he so fondly talked about. Still have the photo & the memories of his yr 12 prom & our Tuckerbag days. R.I.P. Neil, will never forget what a fabulous bloke you were..... Fuss

What an absolute waste and a shame. One of the few genuine fishing presenters that did not dumb it down for the audience. I think the fishing community on the whole will be the worse for his passing.

My sincere condolences to his firends and family who were no doubt very proud of Neil.

May god rest his soul.

As A father of 2 young Kids with restricted fishing time these days Neil was my true amd only escape on C31. Fishing was truly in our blood and I feel I lost a friend even though I never met him. On a positive note you wont be forgotten and I will fish the artificial reef in Port Phillip bay named in your honour and tell my kids all about you oneday. RIP

Mark McEvoy  - Rest in Peace ol` Mate.   |2009-06-23 01:10:52
Totally stunned at Neils sudden passing, as is everyone I guess.Im gonna miss ya ol' mate, just read about it in fishing world.Neil,Andrew and Shane have created a golden, unpretentious, funny, hardcore fishing show where you guys combine together, each with a little bit of your personalities to give us fellow fishos a slice of nirvana every Tuesday night.Andys one liners that cracked Neil up as only special mates can, make you realise how awesome mateship is.The sense of fun and stoke that Neil had chasing tailor on poppers stands out for me. But the best arguably was the trip to Yatala, chasing jewies.I transported myself to the beach the night I saw that episode. That was gold!
Glenn   |2009-06-20 16:55:13
Mate you are a legend. I loved watching you fish, you knew so much.
Paul Luschwitz  - GREATEST FISHERMAN   |2009-06-19 21:35:28
Tammy, our sincere deepest condolences to you.
As ardent followers of AdventureBound my family acknowledges Neil as the greatest fisherman of all time with his vibrant personality and non-self-righteousness in his teachings and tips.

Like so many others,I never met Neil, but feel as if I have lost one of my "best mates". (He called me once and invited me to Norfolk Island - to my deep regret i had to decline at the time.)

Andrew, Shane and Scott. It must be very hard for you guys. Hope you can keep the show going. I will do what I can to ensure Neil's memory endures as a LEGEND.
Paul Luschwitz  - NEIL the greatest FISHERMAN   |2009-06-19 21:09:37
Like so many ardent followers of the show, we know that Neil was such a vibrant personality.
I consider him the greatest fisherman of all time, and especially entertaining and non-self-righteous in his teachings and tips.
I also feel as if he was one of my "best mates" and I have shed a tear at his passing.
I look forward to the continuing of the show and will do what i can to ensure his memory endures.
